I have to admit, I am an Instagram addict (are you following me on Instagram @AnjVarma – if not, head over real quick and share the love)! It is by far my fave social media channel (well tied with my Facebook group of course!). I love scrolling through, posting, sharing on Insta Stories and I’m pretty obsessed with tracking who is commenting and liking! I am continually reading articles, following Instagram influencers, and joining Facebook groups focused on Instagram to educate myself on how to optimize this channel and learn how to build a legit audience.
If you are as obsessed as I am then you should definitely join my MompreneurTribe Facebook Group because I often share all that I am learning over in the Tribe! In fact, on Tuesday June 27th at 2EST I am going LIVE in my Mompreneur Tribe Facebook Group with Meredith Forte the founder of Frame Avenue Design to get her tips for all things Insta! So join us then!
I have tested a ton with my audience to see what drives engagement and likes. And I have found the following three types of posts always drive engagement (with good editing, captions, and pictures of course!) Test it out in the next week and let me know what you think:
1.) Inspirational quotes – people love to be inspired and motivated. Whether plain text or a text overlay on a pretty pic – quotes always drive the likes!
2.) Pictures of your kids – people can’t help but share the love when you post cute pics of your kids!
3.) Flatlays – what are flatlays? You know those pretty pics that have a bunch of random items perfectly positioned on a white or marble background. This one is much harder to post on the fly because it takes good props and a bit of practice. But if you study enough people’s Instagram feeds, get a few good props, and a white foam board you can start to do it on your own. It took me a while put I put together the one below and it drove a good amount of engagement! Or, even easier, you can find free stock images that do the work for you! Stay tuned, I hope to share more on Insta flatlay tips in an upcoming post and/or Facebook Live!
Tag me on Insta if you try any of these – would love to see if it works!!
