I have confession, I never map out ahead of time what I’m going to write about each week in my newsletter or on my blog… even though it is a strategy that I always consult my clients to incorporate into their marketing plan. An editorial calendar is super helpful, especially if you are just starting out blogging or trying to up your social media game. It allows you to remain consistent and mindful of your content strategy and prevents from you scrambling week to week. For me, coming up with topics is usually not a problem. Somehow I am inspired by something that has come up throughout the week.
But, today I was at a loss! I just couldn’t come up with a good topic! It happens from time to time to all of us. Lucky for me, that ended up being the topic of this week’s newsletter! But if it happens to you, here are a couple of tips on how to inspire yourself, overcome writers block, and come up with topics:
1.) Brainstorm recent occurrences, holidays, current events that you can tie into a blog post or social media
2.) Research quotes, related to a certain topic and let that serve as inspiration for a post
3.) Find an article or blog post that inspires you and share the article or blog post (with proper credit and links back) and comment on the article with your thoughts and/or how/why it inspires you.
