If you live in the DC Metro area and are looking for fun activities to keep the family occupied during the day and night on New Year’s Eve, look no further! I’ve put together a list of events throughout the DC Metro area that will be fun for the whole family. Some of these events take place during the day and others are nighttime events. 10:00am – 1:00pm
A fun daytime New Year’s Eve celebration for the family and children, with inflatables, kid’s musical entertainment, face painting and balloon art, kid’s performers, a cool trackless train ride through Yards Park, and a big countdown and balloon drop at Noon to usher in the New Year.
10 am – 5pm, Admission: $14.50/person
Programs and special events scheduled between 10-5
Dress up in cowboy attire or your favorite costume and help us count down to the New Year at 12 noon with Eric Energy and Curious George! Toast the New Year with milk and cookies and enjoy a fabulous day of programs and performances!
Your kids will love the music at Jammin Java’s 8th Annual Rocknoceros New Years Eve Party, and they’ll even get to experience a countdown and apple juice toast to imitate mommy and daddy’s celebration. Seating is first come first serve, but tickets can be bought online beforehand.

Ring in the New Year with family fun at lil omm! Family yoga and play plus snacks and refreshments.
2:00 pm -12:00am , kids under 12 free, adults/12+: $20/person
First Night Alexandria 2014 is a celebration of the new year through the performing arts. Coffee shops, retail stores, hotels, museums and public buildings are turned into performance venues to showcase incredible local and regional talent. Recent performers at First Night Alexandria include clowns, face painters and magicians for children to a world-class Scottish fiddler, a Grammy-nominated rock and roll guitarist and a classical cellist for adults.
For a small fee for adults (children 12 and under are free), you have access to all the entertainment – more than 100 performances, all evening! Everything is within easy walking distances. And we celebrate the dawning of a new year at midnight with a spectacular fireworks display on the Potomac River at the foot of King Street.

A family friendly celebration in downtown Vienna. Food, arts & crafts, moonbounce, face painters, and a performance by The Great Zucchhini. Plus a special kids fireworks display at 9pm.
